General Manager Designate

Supporting and Leading Across the Okell's Inns Estate

At Okell's Inns, we're looking for an experienced and adaptable hospitality leader to join us as a General Manager Designate. This is a unique opportunity to work across our portfolio of pubs and hospitality venues, providing leadership support, management cover and operational expertise wherever it's needed.

Rather than being based in a single location, you'll play a key role across the estate, stepping into sites to support General Managers during holidays, absence, recruitment periods and business-critical projects. You'll work closely with venue teams to maintain high operational standards, deliver excellent guest experiences and ensure smooth day-to-day performance.

This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys variety, thrives in different environments and has the confidence to quickly build relationships, lead teams and drive results.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing General Manager cover across all Okell's Inns sites when required.
• Supporting pub managers and venue teams to deliver excellent operational standards.
• Leading teams through busy trading periods, staffing shortages and business changes.
• Maintaining consistency in guest experience, service delivery and brand standards across the estate.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and team development initiatives.
• Working closely with Head Office departments including Operations, People, Marketing and Finance.
• Monitoring labour, stock control and financial performance during periods of management cover.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, licensing, health & safety and company procedures.
• Assisting with new projects, venue improvements and operational initiatives across the business.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a General Manager within a high-volume pub, restaurant or hospitality operation.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to quickly build credibility with new teams.
• Proven experience delivering excellent guest experiences and commercial results.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to work flexibly across multiple locations.
• Strong understanding of food-led hospitality operations.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the Isle of Man.
